Um dos mais aclamados projetos da cena house/techno global está de música nova. Em collab com o francês/belga Blake Light, o Tube & Berger lançou a melódica e futurista “Data Compromised” nesta sexta-feira, pela sua própria label, ZEHN Records.
Com synths sincopados e ricos em textura, breaks marcantes, vocal feminino robótico e uma aura levemente sinistra, o single é um techno melódico que serve como um belo retrato do nosso tempo, em que a inteligência artificial vem se fazendo cada vez mais presente em nossas vidas — e seria isso positivo ou negativo?
“O que ainda é real hoje em dia? Quem sabe o que é controlado ou mesmo criado pelo homem ou pela máquina? Será que tudo o que importa são dados pelos quais nos definimos? Bem, essas são as perguntas que trazemos a você nesta longa jornada rumo ao desconhecido. Talvez uma IA tenha uma resposta adequada…”, dizem os artistas, no texto promocional da faixa.
Na ativa há 20 anos, o Tube & Berger tem uma carreira sólida e invejável. Formada pelos alemães Arndt Roerig e Marko Vidovic, a dupla já passou por inúmeras fases dentro do escopo da house e do techno, sempre com muito sucesso.
Com mais de cem milhões de plays só no Spotify, tocaram em festivais e clubes como Tomorrowland, Green Valley, Printworks, Ushuaïa, Pacha e Parookaville, e lançaram por selos como Universal Music, Musical Freedom, Armada Music e Get Physical, sem contar os próprios, Kittball e ZEHN Records. Nessa lista, entram hits campeões de charts e definidores de eras, que ajudaram a projetar novas tendências sonoras, e dois álbuns de muito prestígio.
Blake Light, por outro lado, tem uma carreira iniciante — ou melhor, reiniciante. Natural de Paris, mas baseado há dez anos em Bruxelas, onde começou a ser DJ com apenas 18 anos, Arthur Houille (seu nome de batismo) inaugurou seu projeto atual em 2016, quando trouxe três lançamentos entre aquele e o ano seguinte.
No entanto, por ser perfeccionista demais, decidiu que ainda não estava pronto, e passou os anos seguintes produzindo para outros artistas — produções estas que, segundo ele, chegaram a selos como Spinnin’ Records, Warner, Sony e Enormous Tunes.
Até que, agora, em 2023, decidiu resgatar sua identidade, voltando a tocar e produzir como Blake Light — e de cara, conseguindo uma collab com ninguém menos que o Tube & Berger.
One of the most acclaimed projects in the global house/techno scene has released new music. In collaboration with French/Belgian artist Blake Light, Tube & Berger has dropped the melodic and futuristic “Data Compromised” this Friday, on their own label, ZEHN Records.
With syncopated and texture-rich synths, impactful breaks, a robotic female vocal, and a slightly sinister aura, the single is a melodic techno that serves as a beautiful portrait of our time, where artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly present in our lives — and whether that is positive or negative remains a question.
“What is still real nowadays? Who knows what is controlled or even created by humans or machines? Is everything that matters defined by the data we possess? Well, those are the questions we bring to you on this long journey into the unknown. Perhaps an AI might have an appropriate answer…” say the artists in the promotional text of the track.
Active for 20 years, Tube & Berger has a solid and enviable career. Formed by Germans Arndt Roerig and Marko Vidovic, the duo has gone through numerous phases within the realm of house and techno, always with great success.
With over a hundred million plays on Spotify alone, they have performed at festivals and clubs such as Tomorrowland, Green Valley, Printworks, Ushuaïa, Pacha, and Parookaville, and released music through labels such as Universal Music, Musical Freedom, Armada Music, and Get Physical, not to mention their own labels Kittball and ZEHN Records. Their discography includes chart-topping hits that have defined eras and helped shape new sound trends, as well as two highly prestigious albums.
On the other hand, Blake Light has a budding career — or rather, a restarting one. Originally from Paris but based in Brussels for the past ten years, where he started DJing at the young age of 18, Arthur Houille (his birth name) launched his current project in 2016, releasing three tracks between that year and the following.
However, due to his perfectionism, he decided that he wasn’t ready yet and spent the following years producing for other artists — productions that, according to him, landed on labels such as Spinnin’ Records, Warner, Sony, and Enormous Tunes.
Until now, in 2023, he decided to reclaim his identity, returning to DJing and producing as Blake Light — and immediately securing a collaboration with none other than Tube & Berger.
